Over that time, he has worked on a variety of civil infrastructure projects around Australia, predominantly in the transportation sector, and has worked with organisations such as ARTC, V/Line, Transurban, MTM, QR, DTMR, VicRoads, Yarra Trams, NHVR, Places Victoria and several major infrastructure projects. David has performed roles in engineering design and asset management, and acted as project director, supervising and guiding delivery teams. David has advanced technical skills in investigative engineering work including complex bridge inspections, condition assessments, non-destructive testing and intrusive material sampling. He possesses a strong understanding of structural deterioration and failure modes, bridge deck systems, bridge assessments and fatigue analysis, failure mechanism analysis, and asset information management. David is passionate about supporting asset owners and operators to manage risk and optimise the service provided by their assets. These initiatives include the development of remedial and strengthening designs, service life extension, risk reviews and network prioritisation, as well as long-range maintenance and management strategies.
