Bourne Creek Timber Bridge

Completion Date

Following a Level 2 inspection done by others which found the pedestrian bridge to be in poor condition, Bass Coast Shire Council engaged Sterling Group to undertake a Level 3 Engineering Inspection of the 90m long, 12m high timber bridge. This included assessing the full extent of the deterioration, determining the implications for the structures continued serviceability, and providing effective remedial solutions that complied with National Trust Heritage guidelines. Timber bore testing determined the extent of internal deterioration of the timber members and inspection of the structure using rope access techniques facilitated at-height, safe, close-up visual assessments of each timber member.
