Robert Meiklejohn

After four years as a structural engineer with ARRB, Robert joined as a Consultant Structural Engineer in June 2020 and is currently Team Leader – Inspections. His current responsibilities include managing a portfolio of inspection and investigation works for a broad range of rail and road clients. Robert also provides oversight and direction to the development and improvement of Sterling’s Inspections team.

Robert has a broad portfolio of structures asset management experience, covering inspections, assessment, design, and asset management strategy development. His background as a structural engineer includes design experience in the United Kingdom with Amey and structures asset management and research experience with ARRB in Queensland and throughout Australia. He offers extensive experience in the planning and undertaking of field investigations of both road and rail structures and in interpreting the resulting data to enable clients to make better asset management decisions.

Robert has a B.E. in Civil Engineering (Hons) from The University of Queensland. His post-graduate training includes a Master of Project Management from the Queensland University of Technology, a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Engineering (Advanced Structural Engineering Design) from the University of Southern Queensland, ARRB Level 2 Bridge Inspection, qualifications to conduct inspections on behalf of VicRoads, MTM, V/Line and ARTC, and is an IRATA Level 1 Ropes Access Technician and holder of a High-Risk Work Licence (WP). Robert is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia in Structural Engineering and Asset Management. Robert is a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) in Structural Engineering and Leadership and Management.
