Sterling was engaged by Aurizon to undertake bridge bearing replacements at Jambin on an active rail overpass. Importantly, the methodology for the project was developed by Sterling and our consulting partners and contractors. The project to date has involved structural steel detailing and assessment of the existing bridge, installation of jacking shelves from the state controlled road corridor and a sample lift to prove the methodology.
The trial lift was successfully completed in February and our team of jacking specialists, as well as the client have endorsed our methodology to progress. Sterling will re-mobilise to site for the bearing replacement to be completed under closure conditions in late May.
